WILL YOU PRAY FOR ME?

“O God, split the heavens and come down! Manifest yourself somehow. Do what only you can do”. Jeremiah 29:13

If people do not pray for me, what does it matter how many concerts I present or how many people hear me sing?

If people do not pray for me, what does it matter at how many conferences or retreats I speak?

If people do not pray for me, what does it matter how many songs I chart on the charts? How would that impress God? I don’t think Jesus is impressed with religious commercialism. If, in my speaking and concerts, people don’t touch God, what kind of service is it?

The devil is not terribly frightened of our human efforts, credentials or talents. But he knows his kingdom will be damaged when we begin to lift up our hearts to God in prayer. Anything and everything is possible with God.

There was a little-known partner of the great evangelist Charles Finney. His name was Daniel Nash. He was not very successful as a pastor, but at age 48, he decided to give himself totally to prayer for Finney’s meetings.

He would quietly slip into town three or four weeks before Finney’s arrival, rent a room, find two or three Christians, and start praying. Once the public meetings began, Nash usually did not attend. He kept praying in his room for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to melt the crowd.

In 1830’s Charles Finney won 10 percent of New York City to Christ. Yet, Finney credited Nash’s dedication to prayer for the results.

THE GREATEST THING YOU CAN DO FOR ME IS TO PRAY FOR ME!
